Nothing beats a good false email after a long day at the office

I get my fair share of false email messages.  Airline ticket confirmations, communications from colleges to a “Diego Morales” using my same Gmail address.  One I just got in my inbox is the best ever, an invite to attend a Communist meeting in Edinburgh on May Day.

Sometimes you just have to laugh at the odd aspects of how the Internet works…

“Comrades and friends,
Thanks to all who stopped at the street stall on Saturday in Dundee. Your interest was very much apreciated and convinces us that there is a much wider audience for serious political discussion and organisation than is sometimes recognised in these times.

Our newspaper, Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! covers many subjects of importance but at the moment our organisation is gearing up for the departure of our Brigade to Cuba in less than 72 hours! We acknowledge readily that we are very lucky to be with the Cuban people in celebrating 50 years of a Revolution which has solved- in the most difficult circumstances- the basic problems of humanity in feeding, educating and keeping people in health. These facts are never trumpeted by our corrupt and trivial media so that is why the streets is where we have to be to get the truth across about Cuba’s incredible achievements.

We hope you have had a look at FRFI and the other material we had available and if you wish to meet us to discuss any points do not hesitate to contact us at this email address.

The brigade returns by the second week in May and on Thursday 14 May in Room G7, Dundee University Tower Building we will be holding a meeting to report back on the Brigade at 7.30. Please consider joining us for this event and letting others know about it as widely as possible. We will be back in the Murraygate on Saturday 9 May at 1.30- 3..30pm if you want to assist us in building for this event.

Finally, Che Guevara’s daughter- Aleida- has been invited to speak at the Edinburgh May Day March on Saturday 2 May and we would urge everyone to join her there and to look out for comrades from RATB and FRFI who will also be there. The march assembles at 12.noon on Market St. -behind Waverley Station.

Venceremos!
We Shall Win,
Michael”
