One of those proud father moments occurred this weekend
Anyone who is a parent knows that children grow up far too quickly. I had one of those moments this weekend that hit my like a ton of bricks, both with pride and with mild sadness. David, who turned eight two months back mowed the back yard for the first time this weekend. He proudly navigated the mower back and forth, careful not to miss a spot. I could not help but see a great deal of myself in him as I stood there.
Now he is all fired up to cut the same lawn each week (to my relief) and became more so when I offered to pay him each week for it. I don’t think it will be more than a year or two before he is able to cut neighbors lawns, besting me and my lawn business by two years. Big fatherly pride moment for sure…
